Speedslick Pro is LiveLica's own bearing oil, made for the job most skaters try to do with whatever oil is in the garage. It is a light oil intended for skate bearings, and the idea is simple. One drop per bearing lowers friction, so the wheel keeps rolling for longer after you stop pushing. It comes in a 10 ml bottle with a fine tip, which is enough to service many sets of bearings.

What Speedslick Pro is

It is a light lubricating oil for the ball bearings inside inline, quad and short track skate wheels. Bearings turn thousands of times per lap, and the smoother they turn, the more of your push becomes forward speed rather than heat and drag. A clean bearing with the right oil spins freely. A dry or badly oiled bearing feels slow and noisy, and wears out faster.

How to use it

  1. Remove the wheels and take the bearings out of the hubs.
  2. If the bearings are dirty, clean them first and let them dry fully. Oil traps grit, so oiling a dirty bearing does more harm than good.
  3. Add one drop of Speedslick Pro into each bearing, through the shield or onto the balls if the shield is removed.
  4. Spin the bearing by hand for a few seconds to spread the oil evenly.
  5. Wipe away any excess, refit the bearings and wheels, and you are ready to skate.

How much and how often

One drop per bearing is enough. More oil is not faster, because a flooded bearing collects dust and drags. Re oil when the roll starts to feel short or the bearing sounds gritty, rather than on a fixed schedule. Skaters who train in dust or wet conditions will need to clean and re oil more often than those who skate indoors on clean floors.

Why a purpose made oil matters

Household oils tend to fall into two traps. Thick oils, like heavy machine oil, protect well but drag, which slows you down. Very thin oils feel fast at first but thin out or evaporate within a session, leaving the bearing dry. A light oil made for skate bearings is meant to sit between those extremes, so it keeps the bearing fast without washing out after a few laps.

What it works with

Speedslick Pro suits standard 608 skate bearings and works across the range of steel and ceramic bearings, so it pairs with any set in our speed bearings collection, from entry level steel through to Power Bearings Swiss Ceramic. Even ceramic bearings, which tolerate heat and water better than steel, still need clean oil to run at their best.

Frequently asked questions

How many bearings does one bottle service?

Since you use only one drop per bearing, a 10 ml bottle covers many full sets. A standard pair of four wheel inline skates uses sixteen bearings, so a single bottle lasts a long time in normal use.

Can I use it on ceramic bearings?

Yes. Ceramic bearings still need light lubrication to spin freely and to protect the races. One drop per bearing is the same routine as with steel.

Do I need to clean my bearings before oiling?

If they are dirty, yes. Oil binds to grit, so oiling a dirty bearing traps dust inside and slows it down. Clean first, dry fully, then add one drop.

Will more oil make me faster?

No. Too much oil attracts dust and adds drag. One drop per bearing is the sweet spot between protection and speed.

Which skates is it for?

Any skate that runs standard skate bearings, including inline speed skates, quad skates and short track boots.

Frequently Asked Questions

Speedslick Pro is a light bearing oil formulated by LiveLica specifically for skate bearings, designed to reduce friction and improve rolling speed. It's a single-drop application suitable for inline, quad, and short track skates, enhancing performance and extending bearing life.

What types of skate wheels is Speedslick Pro suitable for?

Speedslick Pro is formulated for use with ball bearings inside inline, quad, and short track skate wheels.

How should I apply Speedslick Pro to my bearings?

Remove the wheels and bearings from their hubs. Clean the bearings if necessary, then apply one drop of Speedslick Pro directly into each bearing.

Why is using a good bearing oil important for skating performance?

A clean bearing with the right oil spins freely, converting more of your push into forward speed by minimizing friction and heat drag compared to a dry or poorly oiled bearing.

What are the key benefits of Speedslick Pro compared to standard garage oils?

Speedslick Pro is designed for the demanding use of skate bearings, reducing friction significantly and allowing wheels to roll further after pushing, unlike general-purpose oils.
