Power Bearings Swiss Ceramic 627 is the quad skating version of our top tier Swiss Ceramic bearing, built on a 627 axle instead of the common 608. It is made for quad speed skating and quad long distance racing, where every watt saved matters.

Why skaters choose Swiss Ceramic 627

It uses a high grade Si3N4 hybrid ceramic. According to the manufacturer it is around 50% lighter than steel yet 40% more robust, runs up to 100,000 rpm under load, and saves 0.8 to 1.0 watts per bearing against typical precision steel, which adds up across a full set over a long race. A nylon thermo molded cage positions each ball accurately, and double lumen seals on polished rims give an almost frictionless shield against dust and water. The Si3N4 is cryogenically treated at minus 300 degrees Fahrenheit to refine the structure for efficiency and durability.

Check your axle size first

This is a 627 bearing, with a 7mm bore. It will not fit an 8mm 608 setup. Many quad setups use 627, but confirm your axle before ordering. If you are on 608, look at the standard Swiss Ceramic instead.

It is built for quad skating on 627 axles. Inline skaters on 608 should choose the 608 Swiss Ceramic.

Do ceramic bearings need oil?

Yes. Ceramic handles heat and water better than steel but still needs clean, light oil to run at its best.
